A preview or a trial run of your wedding makeup is a non-negotiable for your wedding day. It can be a consideration to cut cost from a budget. However in my experience of working with brides for many years this is the best experience and well worth the investment.
The preview is not just about seeing the final look of the bridal makeup and or/hair styling. It is about living in it. How it lasts, how it looks in different lights and settings. Getting used to someone else applying makeup, getting to know your artist and feeling comfortable.

Give feedback and ask questions
This is the time to ask questions. Don’t hold back. Make sure you ask at the time of the preview. This is vital for your artist to address any concerns or even demonstrate how that might look. You might have had a pre-decided idea of your look only to see that when it comes to life it might not be what you expected, or it just doesn’t suit you. This is all perfectly Ok, and it is the time for this to happen. A professional artist will not be offended by feedback about the makeup. They will want to ensure that you are entirely happy with the look for your day.
A professional artist will be able to guide you and give you alternatives. For instance, a change of lipstick can be just what is needed. That is why quite often previews are longer appointments than what the whole process will take on the wedding day. It is because of the preview that this is possible. Don’t worry if this takes longer. A professional makeup artist will take time, to ensure that everything run smoothly on the day of your wedding.
